Let it be

Yesterday the “Dia de los muertos” celebrations in Mexico.
When people go to the cemetery to put flowers on the graves of their beloved ones.

This also the Gonzales were doing.
In the small town of Miraflores, about two hours from their rancho, is the cemetery where their deceased family members are buried.
Among others, Lucretia’s parents and Gumaro’s parents.

But this year it was not very peaceful.
Angelito, the son of Lucretia and Gumaro, died of a kidney disease some years ago.
He left behind a wife and two children.
These three persons moved to the nearby town of La Ribera where Angelito’s widow started a relationship with the ex-husband of Angelito’s sister Norma.
The result was that the relationships got upset and never the wife of Angelito nor the two children come to the rancho.
They are estranged.

On the cemetery of the village of Miraflores is the grave of Angelito.
On top of it is a small house with an altar, pictures, flowers and a cross.
The small house is locked but the different family members all have keys.
But recently Angelito’s widow, assisted by her Roberto, have knocked out the lock and have replaced it by a new one.
So that they are now the only ones to have access to the little house on the grave of Angelito.

This has obviously created a lot of turmoil in the family.
Because it is not about the lock and the key.
It is about emotions.

All of them are still very troubled by the death of Angelito.
He was young and beautiful and for some time it seemed he could be saved.
They went to a clinic in Tijuana where they took out one kidney from Norma and placed it in Angelito.
But it didn’t work.

There are many families that have issues.
Where there are conflicts and feuds.
And even it is happening in peaceful and harmonious families like the Gonzales.

It is always triggered by some dramatic event.
Upsetting a balance that existed in the family and afterwards it is never the same anymore.

This is a very tragic thing.
Difficult to find peace with.
Except when one learns to detach.

When I find myself in times of trouble
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
And in my hour of darkness
She is standing right in front of me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
Let it be, let it be.
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be.

And when the broken hearted people
Living in the world agree,
There will be an answer, let it be.
For though they may be parted there is
Still a chance that they will see
There will be an answer, let it be.
Let it be, let it be. Yeah
There will be an answer, let it be.

And when the night is cloudy,
There is still a light that shines on me,
Shine on until tomorrow, let it be.
I wake up to the sound of music
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
Let it be, let it be.
There will be an answer, let it be.
Let it be, let it be,
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be
