Tossed from hell to heaven

Over the last weeks several times reports were published about rather unpleasant, costly and horrific experiences with companies in the USA.
So, it is with great delight a completely different story can be told today.

The neighbour of Kearny Mesa Truck Centre is called “Trueline”.
They do alignments, brakes, suspensions and steering.
On cars, trucks, R.V.’s and 4x4’s.
In a large, new and modern hall.

“Trueline” offered to fix the alignment, steering and levelling problems of the Fuso Szulc.
That had resulted due to lousy jobs done by subcontractors that had been involved through Kearny Mesa Truck Centre.

The deal was made to have the adjustments made by “Trueline” for $ 200.
To be paid from the own pocket because Kearny Mesa Truck Centre took the position that the Fuso Szulc had to return to the subcontractor that was responsible for the technical problems:
Ferguson Truck Body & Equipment in El Cajon.
Although Kearny Mesa Truck Centre themselves would not do any business anymore with that particular subcontractor due to extreme unreliability.

“Trueline” is run by a guy called Mike Henderson.
Who repeatedly says: “All we want to do is to make you happy”.
And his company actually does.

They have a comfortable waiting room with the today’s newspaper, fresh coffee and a fantastic mural.

And they asked while they worked on the Fuso Szulc whether the customer needed to go somewhere: in that case he could use the “Trueline” company car.

In total the job took over 8 hours and two guys worked on the Fuso Szulc.

They decided that the U-bolts were not up to the “Trueline” standards.
A “Trueline”-employee went all over San Diego to find the ones that would fit the Fuso Szulc.

The bolt inside the springs was considered too small.
They drilled a larger hole and put in a larger bolt.
More up to 4x4 use.
They de-arced the front springs until the truck was exactly level.
They made the front of the camper-box go up 1 inch to have that exactly level as well.

They balanced the wheels.
Rotated them.
Aligned the front wheels.

Test drived the Fuso Szulc three times to make adjustments each time.
Until it was all perfect.

And now the Fuso Szulc drives like new.
Smooth and comfortable.
And the thing is exactly level.
The truck and the camper box.

Fabulous job and we may wonder why the subcontractors that got involved through Kearny Mesa Truck Centre were never able to have similar results.
A lot of misery and costs would have been avoided.

Time to pay the bill.
Mike Ferguson of “Trueline” said that the agreement was $ 200.
So it was to be $ 200.
Nothing more for extra work.
Nothing more for the extra U-bolts.
The $ 200 was even with sales tax included.

As a last experience before to travel into Mexico, “Trueline” restored dramatically the confidence one can have in a RV repair shop.
Tossed from hell to heaven.
